The Scindapsus Mixis much loved by flower lovers due to its cheerful colors. The Mixs don’t produce flowers but they don’t need to. Indeed, this plant shows off its beautiful leaves.
The Mix is available both as a hanging plant and as a standing plant supported by a moss-covered stick. Once purchased, it’s recommended to repot the Mix right away. This provides more nutrients, a larger water buffer, airy soil, and enough space for root growth. The Mix prefers a semi-shaded spot and a slightly humid environment, thanks to the jungle climate it originates from. Therefore, never place it on a windowsill above a radiator or directly behind a window. During winter, keep an eye on the humidity level — when the heating is on, the air quickly becomes too dry, causing brown edges and spots on the leaves. To increase humidity, place small bowls of water on the radiator.

The plant prefers a large pot, ideally with a diameter of around 15 to 20 cm. This ensures a balanced ratio between plant and pot. A deeper soil layer also retains more moisture, as the soil should stay slightly damp. Make sure the top layer of soil is dry before watering again — the Mix doesn’t like cold feet, or in this case, cold roots. The Scindapsus Mix is a beautiful and easy plant with air-purifying qualities. When you look closely at the leaves, they seem to shimmer with silvery spots. In summer, this plant thrives and grows quickly. Sometimes that can be inconvenient, but it’s easy to prune. It would be a shame to throw away those beautiful, healthy leaves — they can be easily propagated!
